Artemisia's Arrow - WORMWOOD Solar Flower Essence 50ml

Wormwood has long been used shamanically as a preparatory ally for journeying between worlds. It banishes heavy, negative or stagnant energy and emotional patterns, and clears our inner and outer space for sacred and magical workings. Herbally it is very bitter, and a bane to parasites and worms. In body and heart it expels that which would attach itself to us, disrupting and depleting our systems, to bring us back to an unadulterated state of clarity. Created under a Mars + Saturn conjunction in Capricorn, this essence truly is a powerful banisher, and to be called upon with reverence and respect.

A parter of the mists, Wormwood allows us to pierce through confusion, and loose our arrow-spells precisely. Governed by Mars, Wormwood has a warriors spirit, and offers protection and the penetrative power of clear-sight while traversing traumatic or otherworldly terrain. A brother ally to Mugwort, there is also a Lunar influence here too, giving Mars an intuitive and emotional framework for its powerful work. An ally for dropping in to sacred, ceremonial space before any magical working, divination or ritual, Wormwood connects us with other dimensions of reality, and has been used to facilitate astral travel. It can also be an ally for enhancing your natural intuition or clairvoyance.

Wormwood is also a herb that can be an ally when processing trauma, and can call in the courage to do so. In right timing, this essence can be called upon to break away from and expel the things that have been eating away at us, taken from us our vital force, preparing us to reclaim the fullness of being which is rightfully ours. If being used alongside mindful healing or processing from trauma, other essences that would be excellent alongside Wormwood could include Rose, Hawthorn, Calendula or Californian Poppy.

In the Tarot, this would be an excellent essence for exploring cards such as The Devil, Judgement, or the Ten of Swords. It could be considered an antidote to states found within the Seven of Cups and The Hanged Man. In ritual Wormwood Flower Essence could be utilised alongside banishing magics, or working with the Waning and Dark Moon.

Note: This is one of my more powerful essences, and is to be approached with care and discernment. If unsure, you may want to sit with a Wormwood plant first, taste a small bit of his leaf (be warned, it’s very bitter!), and see how you’re guided by the plants spirit from there.

USE & DOSAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Internal Application: Flower Essences can be taken internally in drop doses, and is recommended at seven drops twice daily for lasting effects and facilitating deeper change, while seven drops as needed offers a more temporary or transient shift towards the gifts and expressions of the essence. It can be taken as often is needed in acute instances such as for anxiety or stress relief. Generally I would recommend working with Wormwood on an ‘as needed’ basis rather than over a couple of weeks, due it’s powerful potential for clearing which can become more cathartic over time.

External Application: Used topically you can add a few drops to acupressure or pulse points such as the wrists, neck, or third eye. It can also be added to creams, baths, altars, or used for ritual practice.

BIRTH & CREATION INFO

Infused during a waxing moon, with wormwood picked from my lovely friend Nicola’s garden. Created @ 26.3.2018 around noon in Edithvale, Victoria, Australia - Sun in Aries, Moon in Cancer, Taurus Rising. The Moon was in her joy, visiting the third house of communication and ritual while receiving benefic support trining Jupiter and squaring Venus, while the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Uranus stacked in the twelfth in Aries. There was also an applying conjunction between Mars and Saturn in Capricorn within 4˚, a very strong signature for the work of banishing, releasing, and determined works. This was not a purposely elected essence, but reflects beautifully (and powerfully) it’s themes of journeying, spirit contact, banishing and ritual.

Vibrational infusion of Wormwood (Artemisia absinthinum), Spring Water, Brandy (preservative). Contains approx 20-25% alcohol.

Wormwood plant material contains Thujone, which may affect uterine tissue and contribute to destabilising a pregnancy. It is therefore recommended to be avoided during pregnancy or if you are attempting to conceive.
